Valvestate
Versatility
Each
and every Valvestate amp is packed with massive high gain
potential and is capable of a myriad of desirable tones -
from disarmingly clean to devastatingly dirty. Also, as the
'Amp For Every Occasion' section clearly illustrates, as you
progress through the Valvestate range, each model builds on
the features of the previous one, offering you greater versatility.
All Valvestate
amps from the 20 Watt 8020 and upwards, boast four features
which add to their flexibility: spacious, natural sounding
Reverb; a Contour control and two footswitchable channels
- Normal and Boost. The dynamic Contour control shifts the
mid-band on the Boost Channel, giving you the ability to re-shape
the tone of your overdrive, from mellow and bluesy to aggressive
and 'in-your-face'.
Armed
and Dangerous
To
add even more fire power to an already lethal drive circuit,
the boost channel pre-amp in all Valvestate amps over 20 Watts
is loaded with a single ECC83 (12AX7) valve. This results
in overdrive full of all the harmonic sweetness and response
that only a valve can give. Furthermore, the most recent additions
to the range, models 8280 and 8200, feature a new, higher
voltage pre-amp which drives the valves even harder for extra
edge.
Ultimate
Tonal Flexibility
To
ensure maximum tonal flexibility in the 8080, 8240 and 8280
combos plus the 8100 and 8200 heads, the Normal and Boost
channels not only have their own comprehensive EQ networks,
they both also feature two distinctly different manually switchable
modes. The Normal channel's Clean/Crunch modes can take you
from crystal clean to AC/DC like crunch at the push of a switch.
The Boost channel's OD1 and OD2 options take you from the
sublime to the ridiculous.
Stereo
Heaven
Once you've
experienced the fullness of a true stereo guitar sound it's
almost impossible to go back to mono. By using the superb
Stereo Chorus and rich Stereo Reverb found in models 8240,
8280 and 8200 you'll create a sound so wide that you could
drive a truck through it! To add further to their exquisite
tone, the 8280 combo and 8200 head feature Bi-Chorus. This
gives you separate Rate and Depth controls for each channel
plus two manually selectable Chorus modes - A and B. Mode
A has a subtle flanged nature whilst Mode B gives a more traditional
chorus effect.
Bi-Chorus
Rear Panel
To help
make our 8280 and 8200 Bi-Chorus models incredibly versatile
and 'easy to use', we've designed them to be as 'guitarist
friendly' as possible. Their clear and concisely laid out
rear panels include the following practical features: Footswitch
Input (for Channel and Chorus switching); Stereo Line Out
jacks which facilitate D.I. (direct injection) to P.A. or
recording equipment; two sets (L & R) of twin Speaker Outputs
giving you maximum extension cabinet connection options; and
two Effects Loops - a mono Series loop and a stereo/mono Parallel
loop (mono Send, L & R Returns). The latter loop is incredibly
useful as it allows you to capitalise on the full sonic potential
of your stereo effects.
Extension
Cabinets
The 8412
is a compact mono, 140 Watt, 8 Ohm 4 x 12 cabinet specially
designed to partner the 8100 head. The 8100 is capable of
driving a stack of two 8412's if you wish. The 8222 is a 2
x 12 stereo cabinet (200 Watts/8 Ohms per side) ideal for
use with either the 8280 combo or 8200* head.
*Note
- The 8200 was designed for use with standard 1960A or 1960B
4x12 cabinets and can drive a full stack.
